Sharing a gift and new year's goals

dezembro 31, 2010,4 Comments

A few days ago I received a Christmas gift from Czech Republic from my dear friend J.
The package contained a lot of different tea bags and a lipbalm and two little boxes all wrapped up in plastic bubble. I was quite excited to open it so I started unwrapping my gift (it was hard!) to find out my dear friend had bought me two box of pencils.

It seems this brand is very well known in Czech Republic (since 1790, according to the boxes) and, as I didn't know it, I went to search on it. (Well, I think I've seen these rubbers before but I wouldn't remember the brand!). You can find Koh-i-noor Hardmuth's website here. I've already spent quite sometime on their website since I got this gift and I must say I'm in love with their products just by watching. Specially graphite pencils and coloured pencils. Wow.
The pencils seem of very good quality to me although I still need to test them (part of me doesn't want to touch those beautiful pencils but I will!).

Moving on, I promised to post my 2011 goals so here I am to write them down.
If you want to read my 2010 year review on art, you may find it here.
On with my goals!

1. Draw more.
It's my biggest goal for the upcoming year. If I get to achieve this goal, I guess I'm already happy. I need to find more time and inspiration to draw.

2. Start using my artwork for commercial purposes.
A few months ago I got an invite to start selling my artwork in a very specific way. I've been postponing the decision to accept this invite because I don't think I have at the moment enough artwork but I must work on it. No excuses this time. I'm doing it!

3. Create somekind of my own merchandise.
By merchandise I mean something like prints, postcards, magnets, necklaces and so on. I always wanted to do this, even before I started drawing (I know, who would think so!), so I'm definitely gonna do it someday. Seems a good goal for this year to me.

4. Do more comissions.
Specially gotta finish one I've been keeping away for too long. I must thank for the patience of the person who comissioned it. Damn, I really must finish it! And maybe accept a few more comissions then.

5. Do my first exhibition.
Seems hard to accomplish to me but after having so many people asking me about it, I think it's the time for me to think in going for it. I have no idea how to achieve this goal but we'll find it with time.

6. Keep writing on my blog.
Because I'm enjoying it so much! I used to have a blog many years ago and I definitely missed writing and updating more often on the web. So this is something to keep doing!

I wish you all a Happy New Year! May your dreams come true and may you achieve your goals as well! Have fun!

A year is almost over. We get older and we start wondering about the way our life is going.
We killed our dreams in this last year, we haven't fought for what we believe in.
We wish to change. A change is the only thing you want.
Take a breath and fly.

My newest drawing! I haven't drawn since September but now I finally found a bit of time and inspiration to pick up my pencils. This drawing expresses the wish of change. 2010 wasn't one of my best years so far. I haven't drawn that much and most part of my dreams were put aside. I've joined university and realised that, although I do like what I'm studying, it is not my passion. I stopped fighting for what I want. My wish for 2011 is for things to change. I hope to put all my plans into practise.

A lot of news are coming for 2011! I hope to draw much more and change a bit my style of drawing. Also, I'll finally start using my work for commercial purposes and I'll be doing competitions to find models for my drawings so stay tunned! :)

I wish you all a great 2011, much better than 2010! May it bring everything you wish for!

Germany, 2009

dezembro 27, 2010,0 Comments

Last year I was in Germany for a youth meeting during one week.
Today, I finally took the time to browse through the pictures I took there and pick my favourite ones.
I'm posting some of them so I can share a bit of my joy with you. Of course, I'm only posting landscape pictures. The pictures are mainly from Erbach, Wiesbaden and Frankfurt.
